Before fully indulging in his gaming career, Jake Throop was an educator.
He worked as an area manager for a company that was dedicated to teaching kids about engineering.
The fun twist is that the company would use LEGOs to bring the fun into learning.
Throop was in charge of hiring, firing, marketing, scheduling programs, and teaching.
He loved his job and was living comfortably with the income he was making. However, it wasn’t his true passion.
Even though Throop always thought gaming as a career would be a true dream as a child, he knew that gaming wasn’t any sort of career.

When Jake first started streaming online in 2017, he was still working for the engineering company.
He would work eight hours a day at his job, then he’d come home to stream for another five to six hours, sometimes even more.
Throop would also stream on the weekend on his days off, leaving him with hardly any time to do anything else.
He states, “It was very exciting my stream was growing, but it was not easy.”
Jake fought through this rough patch in his life until he built his gaming career.
Soon enough, his income in gaming matched and even topped the income from his regular job!
Once he surpassed the income from his regular job, he decided to take the chance and put in his two weeks’ notice and become a full-time gamer.

In March 2018, ChocoTaco was signed on to Team SoloMid (TSM), a professional esports that focuses on gaming as a full-time career. TSMwas founded byReginald in September 2009.
The team competes in tournaments around the world.
”It’s literally a dream come true to join TSM,” Throop stated at the time. He added: ”I’m very excited to be a part of the TSM family and hopefully become a bigger part of the gaming community.”
Jake’s family was very supportive of his decision to pursue gaming as a career.
In April 2019, Jake received his own skins in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (weapon, shoe, and parachute). Other streamers that also received skins in-game are Justin “Just9n” Ortiz,Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, and Henrik “WackyJacky101” Kjærulff.
