More offers from Dollarama

It's a bit more expensive than Costco canned air but you don't have to purchase it in cans of 6. The production date on the can I bought says January 17th, 2013 so I'm assuming this is a pretty new product. I've never seen this before until today.

Each can is good for 3 years (they have expiry dates).

226g of some kind of liquid gas inside. Should last a while. This isn't a toy.

DO NOT BREATHE THIS. YOU WILL DIE IF YOU DO.

Since the price looks integrated into the packaging, I guess we can expect to see this on an ongoing basis.

I remember doing all sort of neat stuff with these things...

It's not cheaper than Costco at the price I pay which is normally 19.98 for 6 cans, or $3.33 per can, but you get 340grams vs 226. If you assume that compression and expansion are similar, you get %50 more from a can from Costco for %10 more cost, so Costco is much cheaper. That is, if you need 6 cans. If you need just one, this seems like a good deal, especially compared to BB, FS, or Staples.

Nice to see Dollarama continues to do their homework.

I get my air out of a compressor (or bike pump) and my water out of the tap.

I'm not 100% on this, but basically it works around contraction and expansion of the metal. When you heat up the dented area with say, a blow dryer, the metal expands. You then take the can of compressed air ,turn it upside-down and spray it on the heated area for it to contract until it pops back out and looks like it wasn't dented. There's a liquid in the can that's under pressure (a fluoroethane) that boils when you release air (raising the pressure) making an endothermic reaction, which is why it feels cold when you use it a lot. Anyways this allows you to continue to use the compressed air can under intended pressures. When you turn in around and release the liquid it's actually VERY cold and not to be played with, you can EASILY give yourself frost bite by applying it to your skin for even just a few seconds.

Its is not actually cheaper than Costco. You buy a six pack at Costco for $3.30 per bottle. The Costco bottle is 374ml / 12oz roughly 340grams versus Dollarama's 226gram size.

Mind you though you have to buy six at a time for Costco.

Are you sure Costco sells the 6 pack? I think last time I saw it turned into a 4 pack now.

Saw the six pack yesterday in Halifax. Mind you I have seen the four pack at times also, but the cans were bigger. Also at one point they sold a three pack.
