Canfield, Ohio Darlene "Mitzi" Hunter 1936 — 2023 With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the death of Darlene "Mitzi" Hunter, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 26, 2023. She was born October 28, 1936, in Helvetia, PA, a daughter of the late Walter and Julia (Pavlik) Vilkinofsky. Prior to moving to Mercer, PA, Mitzi lived in DuBois, PA. She married Richard Wayne Hunter and together they had two wonderful children, Lori Smith and Scott Hunter. Darlene certainly enjoyed a crossword puzzle. She completed countless books in her free time. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and she loved a good polka. Cats held a special place in her heart. Through... He was the beloved husband of Patricia Malasky for 55 years. Born on March 14, 1940, in Du Bois, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Ann Marie (Andrulones) Malasky. Frank was a 1958 graduate of Du Bois Area High School and then attended the University of Mexico for two years. He was a Sgt. Major for the US Army, retiring as a specialist after 26 years, 3 months and 19 days. Frank enjoyed golf, fishing/hunting, enjoying the outdoors, and following his grandchildren's sports. Born March 5, 1934 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Mark C. and Rosella Reardon. Marian was a 1955 graduate of Northwestern University where she earned a BME degree. She also attended Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA, attaining certification as a provisional librarian. She served as the children's librarian at the Dubois Public Library for 12 years prior to retiring to Frederick with her husband in 2004. Born March 12, 1931, in Dubois PA, he was the son of the late Orrin and Daisy McNaughton. David served honorably in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service and was a fifty-year union member. David was a volunteer at the Hershey Medical Center, with their physical therapy department.
